Adopt a Horse

How do I start?

Fill out an application form. Please fill out and submit this form before calling about horses available. It will help keep our cost down.

Which horse is right for me?

Learn about horses available on this page. If you would like to arrange a time to meet the horses, please contact us. (Saturdays are open house days at the farm, but please do call or email first.) Please note that descriptions of horses on the horses available page are written to the best of our knowledge from information from previous owners and other sources; they may contain occasional inaccuracies and typos. Call the ASAP office to confirm details or ask questions. Information on the horses available will only be given to approved adopters.

How much will it cost?

Adoption fees typically range from $350-$800 but are sometimes lower. Please contact us to find out the adoption fee for a particular horse. Once your application form is approved, please consider pre-paying your adoption fee through PayPal.

What else is needed?

Adopters are responsible for the COGGINS and INTERSTATE HEALTH CERTIFICATE of any horses they adopt.

What about hauling?

Adopters arrange the hauling of their horses. This is just a friendly reminder to those of you coming to pick up adopted horses here at the farm, or anywhere: Trailers must be a minimum of 6.5 feet high. For safety reasons, we cannot allow horses over 15’2″ hands to try to squeeze into trailers which are not tall enough.
