American Standardbred Adoption Program

To recognize the contributions of the many indviduals who make up ASAP, we will be profiling volunteers one at a time. Many more will be stepping into the spotlight! Before the spotlights is a partial list of some of the wonderful people who selflessly give to the horses of ASAP. More people to be listed soon. We can't say THANK YOU enough!

- Sandy Palmer - avid supporter, cheerleader, and fund raiser!
- Bryan and Kim - this program would not be the same without them - web masters, lovers of all the horses but especially Precious KC, donors of lots of supplies for the farm!
- Jennifer Everson - she has boarded and fostered horses free of charge all summer when needed and has not received nearly enough thanks for that!
- Linda Bair - you have been a GREAT voice in Minnesota for ASAP - promoting the program and the breed and selling many raffle tickets! The list of things you do for ASAP goes on and on.
- Carmen Burth - the silent workhorse in North Branch who selflessly screens hundreds of applications a year and also does not receive nearly as much thanks as she should! She never complains - always is willing to go the extra mile to make sure these horses get a good home.
- Dale Lamminen - your financial support and moral support keeps us going!
- Kathy and Joe Dunigan - for your sensitivity and heart and financial support
- Tony Maurello - faithfully gives a percentage of his horse's winnings on an ongoing basis
- Sara Wedwick - volunteer and fellow teacher who comes to the farm to groom, love, and otherwise provide care for the horses.
- Kim Cleminson - another MN woman who opens her heart, her home, and pocketbook to the horses in need. She is the "mom" to Mickey, otherwise known as Indy, who is thriving at her farm, as well as Nonobadphilly and Izabeau.
- Craig Wellman - gives up his spare time daily to care for the horses even when it is overwhelming and frustrating and sad ... handles the hard cases ... supports me even when it would be easier to just give up.
- Dr. Wilson DVM = donates veterinary supplies and has never turned down our requests!
- Dr. Mark Mattison - La Crosse Veterinary Clinic - lots of free advice and teaching on how to vet horse ourselves whenever possible ... a 10 year supporter of the program!
- Marlyss Hanson - who sent money to a program out of her extreme belief in the STB breed!
- Sally Watt - a prestigious race owner who pledges dollars each year to support her long term care STandardbred who lives here in sanctuary - Friendly Explosion
- Tiffany Bingham - made it possible for us to rehabilitate Bob the Belgian rather than having him go to slaughter - and will be helping with a fund raising event in Richland Center Sept. 27.
- Regina Stover - a saint in Nebraska who attends horse sales and saves innocent lives from slaughter, then rehabilitates them and donates them to ASAP. Because of Regina, Benny, Lily, Arizona, Charlie, and Bullet have had a guardian angel!!!!\
- Lynda Shelton - another selfless soul who has gone way out of her way to help Final Act, as well as Won Pine Hoss. Her husband and she drove 400 miles in a recent attempt to recover a horse that humane society officials felt was being neglected ... they made the contacts, they took the truck and trailer - and no one would even know this unless we publicized them in this update. You two deserve a place in heaven as well!
- Lisa Goodman - a professional and horse lover from Lake County, IL, who has hauled horses for ASAP, and boarded three horses for ASAP for the past several months at NO CHARGE. She is truly involved for the horses, and has ended up loving and adopting two of the three horses! She is truly someone we continue to appreciate and hope she stays on for years to come.
