Hear
our humble prayer, O God, for our friends the animals. Especially
for animals who are suffering, for animals that are overworked,
underfed, cruelly treated: for all wistful creatures in captivity
that beat their wings against bars. For any that are hunted
and lost or deserted or frightened or hungry, for all that must
be put to death. We entreat for them all the mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them we ask a heart of compassion
and gentle hands and kindly words. Make us, ourselves; to be
true friends to animals and so share the blessings of the merciful.

Some of the horses we
receive are in need of special care--they need supplements, medicines,
vet care, or just time to recover and rehabilitate. Others are difficult
to place with a new family because they are no longer rideable--they
need long-term support for everyday living expenses. Not many people
are interested in adopting a companion horse. With your help, ASAP
can provide a sanctuary for these horses, protecting them from the
horrible realities of slaughter and ensuring their lifelong security
and well-being.
We now offer our Horse
Sponsorship Program, which gives you the opportunity to help one
of these horses out. All you have to do is let us know which horse
you would like to sponsor and how much you would like to contribute
to that horse's care, on a monthly basis. We will then keep you
up to date on that horse's condition. Absolutely no amount is
too small!
