Thank you for visiting the American Standardbred Adoption Program (ASAP), a non-profit organization serving Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Michigan as well as other states. On these pages you will meet many wonderful horses who need a second chance, a new start, someone like you to care for them. If you love horses, please consider adopting, rescuing or sponsoring a horse today.
If you are unable to provide a home for a horse at this time, you can show your love with a gift of money, time, or supplies. This animal welfare organization is run completely by volunteers. With your support, ASAP is able to help approximately 100 horses per year. ASAP will continue to do everything within its means to help the horses, but we need your help. If you can toss a few coins in the hat, you can rest assured that you are helping a good cause because your donation is exclusively for the horses. Read more about ASAP, a recognized 501(C)(3) charitable organization.
Read answers to common questions about adoption and then submit your application form. Meet the horses who are currently available for adoption and contact ASAP if you need more information. After you have adopted a horse, you will need to remember to send in your vet check form.
Your tax-deductible gift of financial support is an ideal way to support the horses, who are in constant need of basic necessities like hay, grain, dewormers, weight builders, blankets, halters, lead ropes and costly farrier and veterinary care. ASAP also needs volunteers who can help with a variety of essential services. A great way to support the horses is to use Good Search and iGive.
Do you have space on your farm or property for a horse friend? Does one of your horses need a companion? Would you like to get to know a horse or do some training? If so, please consider foster care. We are desperate for people to foster horses.
ASAP is the only charity in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa, and Illinois dedicated solely to serving the midwest harness racing industry, offering services catering specifically to the harness horse owner. ASAP is endorsed and supported by the Illinois Harness Horseman's Association, Balmoral and Maywood Park, major Illinois breeding farms, and trainers, drivers, owners, and fans of harness racing.
