Grey Van Kandy and her gorgeous foal. We didn't know she was bred when she entered the program. What a surprise for the family who adopted her!

Dear Friends,

I will be out of town until Sunday evening. When I return I will update the farm report and have pictures of our adventures in the Black Hills! Janimal will be making his second trip out there and we are looking for ward to it.

In case of emergency, call my cell at 608-792-5126. Also call Marisa who will be at the farm while we are away at 608-637-6180 or 608-637-8045.

Until then,

Susan

Thank you to Ginny Copperthite, Debbie Olson and Linda Bair, great ASAP volunteers, who made first annual Northern Minnesota Trail Ride at the Paul Bunyan State Forest a smash success. Here is Linda Bair's write up of the event:

Good news !!!!

We had 32 riders and after expenses we made $568!!! That covered our expenses to Horse Expo and also covered some expenses for foster care horse shots and vet checks for this spring!!! AND on top of it all, US Freedom has been adopted by a wonderful woman I have known for a couple of years. I had ridden him several times in the arena and had not gone out trail riding with him yet. So I asked her to give him the test. She rode him out on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and fell in love with him. SHe had no intentions of getting another horse!! It sure is hard to see them go but knowing where makes a big difference!

Her son is in Pony Club and Freedom will be his. Lisa is sold on what we are doing and will be doing what she can to promote this in the Pony Club!!!!

I can't tell you all how glad I am that it went as well as it did - I am not the most "organizing" person there is but everyone said they would come back and that we should charge more!!

Anyway I now have to focus on my day camps and just get on with riding for a while!! I still have Sherman here and he is a big baby. Am hoping to get some good advice on supllements for his issue here soon and get him going.

Take care everyone -

Linda
